The Iowa Policy Project (IPP) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 2001 to produce research and analysis to engage Iowans in state policy decisions. IPP focuses on tax and budget issues, the Iowa economy, and energy and environmental policy.
In keeping with our mission to provide "fact-based, objective research and engaging the public in an informed discussion of policy alternatives," IPP staffers routinely make presentations to large and small groups throughout the state on various topics we have researched. |

IPP Executive Director David Osterberg and renewable energy enterpreneur Ed Woolsey appeared on Ed Fallon's radio show Aug. 12 to discuss the Green Bike Tour and new energy opportunities for Iowans gleaned from their trip to Slovenia. Hear the "Fallon Forum" interview.

IPP Research Associate Lily French makes remarks to an Iowa Credit Union Foundation meeting in West Des Moines, providing an overview of the Cost of Living in Iowa, with information from several IPP reports on economic opportunity challenges.
Part of her presentation examined the prevalence of "cliff effects" in work supports, several of which drop sharply for low-income working families the more they make. Assuring smoother transitions to help families "make work pay" is an important challenge for Iowa policy makers.
